Individual Lessons
Every pupil has a weekly one-to-one lesson. Here, we work on pianistic skills and develop their sound.
I encourage you to arrive early to observe part of the previous pupil's lesson. This develops you and your child's listening and reminds them that they are not alone in the challenges of learning.
Group Classes
When they are ready, I invite my pupils to join a group class once a week in addition to their individual lesson. Here we review repertoire together, practise performing, play games and learn music theory.
Play-Togethers
On Thursday evenings, everyone in the studio comes together for a play-together on Zoom. We play the pieces in Suzuki Book 1 and have a chat about how it went. Even if you've only learnt your first few sounds, I encourage all my pupils to come and listen.
Parents
As a parent, you are the 'home coach'. I ask that you attend your child's lesson with them and help direct their listening and practice during the week. You don't need any prior musical knowledge - all is covered in lessons - just time and willingness to support your child as they learn. I offer voice note exchange to answer questions between lessons.
